A ghost followed me home - Part 2

Part 1

Part 2

Part 3

Flashes of the séance flickered before Kimmie’s eyes. She felt sick to her stomach, and she regretted ever stepping foot in Andrew’s house. She had agreed to come out of pure fascination for him - he was an extremely cute guy with an unbelievable amount of charisma. Kimmie didn’t want to reject him by being rude, so she agreed to come after he asked two or three times. He really wanted her to come.

Now, with a growing sense of dread, Kimmie realized that she had left the birthday party too late. Something had followed her home, some spirit or ghost that had taken advantage of the séance to latch onto her unsuspecting soul. She felt tears prick at the corners of her eyes, but she couldn't bring herself to cry. It was as if the entity within her was holding her emotions at bay, an iron grip that only tightened as the night wore on.

“Very interesting,” the voice in her head said. “You’re had an extremely fortunate life. I can’t wait to have it…”

“Who .. are you?”

“I’m about to be you.”

“Get out of my head,” Kimmie struggled to whisper. “I’m sorry for participating in that thing. Please, I didn’t realize that any of that stuff was real. Please…”

“Now that I’m inside of you, I don’t plan on leaving. Especially since you’re loaded. You’re almost done your college degree, you have a trust fund thanks to your grandfather, and your family is just picture perfect! God, he chose me a great body to have. I’m loving these memories already.”

That’s when her heart dropped. “Andrew?” When all she got was laughter, she knew something horrible had happened. “Get out of my head!” She tried to scream for help, but her voice finally failed her, the words catching in her throat as the entity's control grew ever stronger. Kimmie's mind raced with panic, desperately searching for some way to break free from the ghostly possession that had befallen her. But every thought, every attempt to regain control of her own body, only seemed to strengthen the spirit's hold.

“My … you’re such a stubborn girl, aren’t you?”

Time seemed to slow as Kimmie battled against the intruder, her body growing weaker and more exhausted with each passing moment. She knew she couldn't continue like this, that eventually, the entity would gain full control and she would be lost forever. And just before she could get to her cell phone so she could leave a message to somebody to get her help somehow, an evil smile crept over her lips.
