Becoming a better girlfriend - Part 5

Part 1

Part 2

Part 4

Part 5

Aine had always been the center of attention, the light that drew people in. She was used to feeling loved and wanted by everyone, especially on her social media accounts. She was a fitness influencer, and she didn’t have a shortage of thirsty men chasing after her. But her life had taken a turn when Heather, her ex-best friend, stole her body.

Aine didn’t think she was doing anything wrong to justify her life being stolen. Heather had made her boyfriend cheat on her. As a girlfriend, she made things right by keeping her boyfriend from straying. He was literally the man she was going to marry, and Heather had ruined everything.

It didn’t help that her new life was harder than her last one. Adjusting to her transgender body had been difficult, and she felt isolated and misunderstood by an unbelievably large number of bigots. She had enemies around every corner, and being Heather wasn’t easy. She tried to let Max know what had happened, but it was like he didn’t care. He simply ignored and avoided her. It was almost like he loved the new Aine, and that cut her deeply.

One day, while working her retail job, Aine looked out the window and spotted Max and Heather holding hands in the parking lot. Max had been a close friend, someone she thought would stand by her during her transition. But seeing him with Heather, a woman who had taken every opportunity to make Aine's life miserable, made her blood boil.

Aine was no stranger to Heather's cruelty. Aine had been arrested because of the body thief’s lies. At the time, she tried to explain to her neighbors and everyone else at the prison that someone had stolen her body. She couldn’t explain how, but she knew that it had something to do with the necklace around her neck.

She let out a cry for help when she noticed that the necklace had somehow disappeared, and now she was desperate for understanding. But nobody believed her, and she was left looking like a crazy person.

Following that incident, Heather issued a restraining order against Aine. She knew that confronting Heather would land her back in jail, but it was hard to resist the urge when she saw her cozying up to Max. The life she had once imagined for herself - filled with love, friendship, and maybe even a family of her own - seemed to be slipping further and further away.

Unable to contain her emotions, Aine excused herself and fled to the bathroom. She locked the door behind her and sank to the floor, her body wracked with sobs. The tears flowed freely as she mourned the loss of the life she had known and the people who had once fantasized over her old body.

  1. I can't help feeling a little sad for Aine, I'm not sure she deserved to have her life stolen. Still, I enjoyed the story.
